Participants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who have recently attained bachelor's degrees (B.S., B.A.) in biochemistry, biology, or chemistry and are not enrolled in a degree-granting program (M.S., M.A., Ph.D., or similar).

Physics or Engineering graduates whose coursework and interests align with the RaMP theme of Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Biodesign (B-cubed) are also eligible for this program. Participants should be graduates whose prior undergraduate research experience lacks the breadth or depth to enable entry into their desired careers -- from no research to research outside the chosen field to insufficiently immersive research in the field of interest. Applicants must be committed to full-time mentored laboratory or computational research in the B-cubed areas, complemented by professional development activities that foster exploration of career options and improve potential career placement.

Applications from students who are members of under-represented groups or from economically under-resourced backgrounds are especially welcome.
